Tina Powell LCSW
More Information
I believe in the importance of creating a trusting, warm, and respectful therapeutic relationship with clients as the foundation for making healthy change. My skills include working with adults 22+ who seek support with anxiety, depressive and mood disorders, traumatic stress, and life situations that are having a negative impact in relationships, at work, home, or academically.
I enjoy working with women, mothers, men, people of color, queer and trans folks, young, middle age and older adults. As a therapist, I assist clients to identify their innate strengths, and develop coping skills. I collaborate with clients to create goals and develop a treatment plan to guide our therapeutic work to reduce problematic symptoms and life stressors.
I aim to gently guide clients to lean into hard places in order to explore their growing edges with humor, compassion & wisdom. I have training in Mindfulness, Mindful Self Compassion, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy. I also provide Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral, and Trauma Informed therapeutic approaches.
I do not work with OCD, SPMI, eating or personality disorders, couples or families.
