Theoretical Orientation
"I draw from multiple theoretical orientations in order to tailor treatment to best meet each individual client's needs. I collaborate with my clients each step of the way in order to ensure we move at a pace that healthy and reasonable for each individual client. The approaches that I draw the most from are as follows:
"CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) -Identify how self-talk perpetuates one's feelings towards themselves, others, and the world. How to challenge and change unhelpful self-talk. Identify problem behaviors and habits, and how to reduce or eliminate them.
"DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) - Strategies to help individuals to better deal with and manage intense emotions. Interpersonal skills for those who have relationship problems.
"ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) - Mindfulness strategies to identify unhelpful thought patterns and let them go; how to live in the present moment. Assist clients in identifying, prioritizing, and living by their values and goals.
"EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy) - A somatic therapy that incorporates movements in order to facilitate the processing of traumatic events."
